Clarens is known as the “Jewel of the Eastern Free State”. It is a charming town in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains that offers the perfect escape from city life. Think galleries, quaint clothing stores, outdoor activities, breweries, restaurants and so much more.
It was established in 1912 and named after the town of Clarens in Switzerland. it is situated 336km from Johannesburg, 284km from Bloemfontein and 389km from Durban.

767 On The Ridge is located on the Clarens Village Conservancy, 1km from the village square. It accommodates 2 prople with an open plan living area & kitchen, bathroom with shower and a patio and braai area – the best sunrise in Clarens.

Great place to stay with an awesome view. Amazing location next to the nature reserve where there are many hiking trails and mountain bike trails. You can also just relax in the beautiful, quiet garden looking out over the mountains. It is a short drive to Clarens with restaurants to choose from and shops to browse through. Lindsey was a fantastic host, and everything was perfect in the room.
My husband and I stayed over at Lindsey’s place and enjoyed every moment of it! The unit is well-equipped, and extra care has been taken to ensure that the necessary amenities to withstand loadshedding are in place. She was also super responsive and assisted me with personal requests. Definitely my favourite place in Clarens!
The accommodation is perfectly positioned on the outer extent of Clarens along the boundary of the nature reserve with direct access to several hiking trails. The unit is clean and is 2 minutes away from the main market square. Great value for money, would definitely stay again.
Our stay at 767 on the Ridge as incredible! It was close enough to town to get where you want to be easily, but far enough from the hustle and bustle that you really get to experience the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of this quaint town. It was amazing to be so close to the conservancy and its many hiking and cycling trails. All in all, an amazing breakaway for us – we would definitely visit again.
