Established in 2019

Our love of the Eastern Free State, mountain biking, nature, hiking and adventure were the ingredients for The Stoke House. With easy access to mountain biking, trail running, hiking, nature & beautiful mountainous scenery, good food and beer right on our doorstep, this led to the birth of The Stoke House in Clarens – the jewel of the Eastern Free State in South Africa.

The town of Clarens is nestled in the Maluti mountains where you will find a variety of restaurants at which to indulge, amazing shops & galleries, spas to pamper yourself and adventure activities for the adrenaline junkies and nature lovers.

We have created a home away from home right in the centre of Clarens which is only about 500m from the nearest hiking trail if you wish to get out into nature and in walking distance from the town centre for you to wonder around to shop, eat and enjoy.

The Stoke House is pet friendly so the fur babies can join you in the mountains on your daily hikes as well welcomed by many of the local restaurants and shops catering for pets.

Clarens offers something for everyone, and we look forward to sharing our little spot of heaven with you!
